Music is a large part of the congregational life of the Poplar Springs Charge. It gives us a language to express our hearts to God in ways that sometimes words can't.
Our small and faithful choir sings almost every Sunday at Jennings Chapel and enjoys presenting a variety of anthems, from traditional hymns, to the more contemporary praise music.
Members of both churches are also part of a larger community choir that meets and performs at Jennings Chapel around both Christmas and Easter. This has been a great way to get singers from many different denominations to come and "make a joyful noise" together.
In addition to the choir, both Jennings and Poplar have been blessed with a number of talented musicians who share their gifts on Sunday mornings. Using a mix of local Bluegrass & Country favorites with Contemporary Christian songs, these musicians bring their own special sound to our sanctuaries many times throughout the year.
Our church also invests in the musical talents of our youth by supporting them through our Music Scholarship program. This program provides funds for students to attend summer music camps and music lessons throughout the year. For more information on this program please see Marge Cissel or Dave Brunson
